Affiliate Marketing in India – A Focused Approach

Web is a very big library or you can say the mother of all cyclopedias. From cooking tips to flying a plane, you can find any information online.

I did a research on affiliate marketing; it was a content analysis with information taken from useful web sites and blogs. The focus was to understand the nature of communication and how it addressed the issue “Beginner’s guide to start an affiliate marketing business”. I would try not to go into the details and present the most essential information in the study.

Web sites and blogs have covered most of the issues pertaining to affiliate marketing business. From self learning guides to small tips and tricks, there is almost everything. However, the literature or content is based entirely on the theory part. You have to grab the idea and then try implementing it on your own.

To fill in the gaps and voids, I have a useful suggestion, especially to beginners who have no idea as how online business works. A web site publisher is the central figure in affiliate marketing. The publisher can be forthcoming only when he is aware of different tools, techniques and know-how of web platforms. People who have provided the guides and content on the web have more or less given a diminished treatment to this issue.

Ideally, a beginner has to understand and comprehend the basics about web sites, search engines, advertising and marketing. The best way to start is experiment on a blog. A web site and blog is the best combination. On blog you can experiment, put all your theoretical concepts. Then after reviewing you can have a better judgment of the things.

However, such a practice should not be exaggerated. You have to maintain a balance and that is very essential. Spend as much time experimenting on the blog as is necessary. You can start by spending one-fourth of your time on research, design and development. When you are sure that a certain practice works, you can go ahead with the project. I have seen a lot of Indian authors maintaining some wonderful blogs. By applying their skills, affiliate marketing in India can be a great success. They can themselves turn out to be affiliate marketing service providers. And I am sure that things are going to work.

Affiliate Networks Can Break the Hegemony

Affiliate networks are doing a great job by employing thousands of web site owners, who for the last so many years have been squeezed behind the screens of the monitors and out of their wits by the strange search engine statistics. Very few web site owners are able to make enough money out of their own efforts. The business idea if it proves to be a success is buried deep down and never told. In affiliate marketing, it is nothing like that.

The web site of an affiliate is much like a small broadcasting station or a magazine. The owner publishes the advertisements, besides his own content and from those advertisements; he is able to run the web site. It is good business when advertisements are coming regularly and other industry sectors provide a helping hand.

The buzz in the town is that media barons are antagonists for such an industry. It might be so. The world is looking forward for Internet to take over other media. The losing popularity, especially the TRPs, has shaken the monopoly of the popular media houses. If people start watching more of the Internet content, the television providers will have a miserable time.

Affiliate marketing and Internet marketing can further change the scenario. Offline advertising and marketing agencies fear that the new medium can go a long way. This means that it is a beginning and everybody has to start afresh. However, our media experts have come to this conclusion that before such a thing will happen it will be the established business enterprises who with their influence and support will take the maximum share. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Yahoo and Times-Warner have already started acquiring these platforms. The question is whether upcoming players like Rupiz Affiliates can come over such onslaughts and break free from the hegemonic rule.
